The P.R.O.P.E.R. Process Explained

The Patio Empire P.R.O.P.E.R. Process is six steps - Plan, Relate, Options, Present, Execute, Review. It's the structured way we run every build, designed so you always know what's happening, when it's happening, and why. Same crew from start to finish, no handoffs, no surprises.

Step 1 - Plan: We start by listening

Before anything gets measured, we have a conversation. Usually a 10-minute phone call where we ask about your home, how you use the backyard, what's prompting you to look at this now, and what you're hoping the finished space will do for your family.

No clipboards. No scripts. Just a yarn about what matters to you, so when we come out for the site visit, we're not starting from zero.

Step 2 - Relate: We come to you

We visit your home, meet you face-to-face, and walk through the space together. The licensed builder is there - on site from the very first interaction, not just the day construction starts.

We get to know the site, the challenges, the council quirks for your suburb, and - just as importantly - we get to know you. We build the relationship first, because that's how good builds start.

What happens during the site visit:

  • We measure up properly (not eyeball it)
  • We point out where the new roof or deck height will sit so you can visualise it
  • We flag anything that needs council approval and the pathway to get it
  • We talk you through the materials honestly - what suits, what doesn't, what's overkill

Step 3 - Options: We show you what's possible

We go back to the office, brainstorm the best solution, and put together your options. No cookie-cutter packages. Everything is tailored to your home, your needs, and your budget.

If there are two ways to skin it, we present both with the trade-offs spelled out. We'd rather you make a confident decision than the most expensive one.

Step 4 - Present: We walk you through it

We don't just email a number and hope for the best. We call you, explain the quote line by line, answer every question, and make sure you're comfortable before moving forward.

If you need time, take it. No pressure, no follow-up spam, no "but the price changes after Friday" rubbish.

Step 5 - Execute: We build it properly

Same crew from day one. We've already been to site, checked the measurements, and we know the job inside out. We keep you in the loop throughout the build, fix any issues on the spot, and make sure every detail is finished to our standard.

What happens during construction:

  • Daily updates with photos
  • Licensed builder on site every day, supervising every join
  • Any unexpected issues raised immediately, not buried
  • A fixed timeline we stick to

Step 6 - Review: We make sure you're happy

The job's not done when the last screw goes in. We walk through the finished build with you, make sure everything's right, and handle anything that needs attention. Then we check in after you've had time to live with it.

Two-year workmanship warranty and six-year structural warranty in writing on every job - so even after we're gone, you've got it covered.

They turned up when they said they would, every single day. The finishing made the difference - it just looks the goods.

Why we built it this way

Most patio companies hand you off three or four times - salesman, designer, project manager, builder, after-sales. Every handoff is a chance for something to get lost. We don't do handoffs.

When one person manages the relationship and one person builds it, the customer gets the best of both worlds. That's the entire model behind Patio Empire - and the P.R.O.P.E.R. Process is what makes it run on the ground.
